also, some key points... say the command word in a pleasant voice not harsh. Later on if she does not motion toward the door (to shut it) but instead comes to you for a treat... Tell her in a pleasant voice, "nope, sorry.. u didn't shut it..." Then go to the door and shut it yourself, and DO NOT give her any treat. I did this to my dog a few times as she grew more focused on the treat instead of shutting the door, so after she realized she won't get a treat unless she works for it, she now lunges for the door if I even LOOK at the open door. lol Once in a while she'll shut the door without me telling her to, but I notice she wants you to see her doing it. Still, if you are in another room, and you know she's come in from outside w/o shutting the door, you can say the order and I'm sure she'll do this w/o your presence but you'll need to reward her with praise. :)

Hey, all you need to do is get some Little Jacks.. (very small pellet-sized training treats). Give her one or two so she knows they are the bomb... then at whatever door you want her to learn this trick at, you start with the door closed first. Hold a little jack treat in your hand. Put it at her nose so she can smell it and guide your hand up the surface of the door about the height of where her front paws would reach if she were to get on her hind legs. Coax her, saying C'mon.. up... whatever will get her to get onto her hind legs to reach your hand. At first you may need to keep bringing the treat in front of her nose then back to the door. :) As she finally gets upon her hind legs praise her excitedly, and give her the treat. Repeat this several times with the door closed and make sure you always give her the treat after she makes any headway. While you do this and as you see she's getting it, make the command something like, "SHUT the door." Emphasis on the word SHUT. They will pay attention to the emphasized word, so later you can say Shut the door, or Shut it, or were you born in a barn, Shut that door... and she will only be paying attention to the word Shut as you say that word with more emphasis than the rest of the sentence. hehe ANYWAY... once she's got the initial front paws on a shut door down, give her the command on the closed door withOUT your hand near the door. You may need to point or guide the treat at the door until she understands. Never lose patience. They want to please us. Once she's done this without your hand near the door, give her treats and praise and move onto the open door part. So open it just a little so it doesn't move too much when she plops her weight onto the door's surface. If it's too open it will surprise her too much and take her mind off the task at hand. :P Do the same coaxing and with treat in hand. IF you need to go ahead and put your hand at the door's surface at a level high enuf for her to have to reach on her hind legs, & say the command. "Shut the door." If she's not paying attention to you due to hyper energy, say her name. "Mitzi, SHUT the door." At first it will seem awkward for her to feel a moving object (the open door) so as soon as her front paws hit the surface of the door, praise her and give her the treat. If you do this over and over you can actually train her to do this in very little time. :P Once she's got this down she will gladly do this on command when she comes in from outside. Sometimes my dog is so excited when she comes in she'll shut but it won't shut all the way. If this happens I always say, "Nahhh, Shut it all the way." and she'll turn around and push until it's shut. lol She also will manipulate us to try and get the treat for it so I don't reward her ALL time instead I'll give her a treat for doing something else. That way she won't false alarm you when you're busy with something, just so she'll get that treat. lol NOW, IF she doesn't know how to push the door from outside open if you've left it ajar for her to come inside... that is a bit more involved depending on the dog. If this is the case, you'd need to wait for her to return to the door and call her to come inside all the while slightly moving the door open enuf for her to get her nose in the opening. Once she gets the nose between the door and the doorjamb, call her into the house. Praise her, then point to the open door and say the command to shut the door. Sometimes they will be disoriented from the new angle of the door. If this happens, just shift your body to get her to come closer to your side, then point at the open door and get her to shut it. I'd give her treats every time she does this for at least 2 weeks consistently. I hope you'll give it a try... I'm not sure how attentive Min-pins are but have heard they are a bundle of energy, and also irresistibly cute!

I Just got done with my daily prayer and Bible study. After, I felt like just going over to the Book of Psalm so I flipped and read the first one that came to me (not something I'm in the habit of doing). Now, while reading my New Living Translation (ALL translations can be found at Biblegateway.com), it struck me at how this song could very well be done today by Eminem, in a rap of course. This particular Psalm really has that Eminem feel in my opinion. The insights are there and so is the boldness to tell it like it is. See if you could picture Mr. Eminem doing a rendition of Psalm 49, (New Living Translation version)... Here it is. I can just imagine Eminem's (clean) version! Yes, I'm serious. Take a look! PSALM 49 (For the choir director: a song of the descendants of Korah. 1 Listen to this, all you people! Pay attention, everyone in the world! 2 High and low, rich and poor-listen! 3 For my words are wise, and my thoughts are filled with insight. 4 I listen very carefully to many proverbs and solve riddles with inspiration from a harp. 5 Why should I fear when trouble comes, when enemies surround me? 6 They trust in their wealth and boast of great riches. 7 Yet they cannot redeem themselves from death by paying a ransom to God. 8 Redemption does not come so easily, for no one can ever pay enough 9 to live forever and never see the grave. 10 Those who are wise must finally die, just like the foolish and senseless, leaving all their wealth behind. 11 The grave is their eternal home, where they will stay forever. (of course I'd hate the explicit version!) hehehe So what do you think? Crazy, right?

Profile Pic (pumpkins): Yeah I did the Lady Liberty one, admittedly it was from a pattern, and my husband Joe did the Spongebob one, his was free-hand (after I drew it for him to follow) hehe. We both have spongebob/patrick Christmas ornaments from back when we were huge fans. Anyway, we barely get any trick or treaters so I decided to show them off via profile pic. :) OOOOH! I saw yours too! OMGOSH That is SO EXCELLENT! Very talented! Did it take you a long time? It looks very time-consuming! I hate when they all shrivel after all that hard work! lol We like roasting the seeds and snacking on them too! mmm. I forgot to tell you I will devour the Relapse Album's Insane song, (and others). My goal is to listen to every song of his I can find. I've found that exploring Eminem's songs so far has been very enlightening, fun and eye-opening, and don't feel I should rush it. I like the newness of each new discovery and like lingering around each song for a long time before I take in the next breath of exquisitness! Yes, I'm one of those people who once I get toward the end of a book will set it down as if that will make it last longer! Go-figure! I call it license to be a goofball. :P I'm grateful for the clean versions as well, but I respect free license and freedom of speech. hehe. That said, in my own line of work I don't like art to be created for just shock value. I believe it should be a way to turn the ugly into a thing of beautify. Loose interpretation aside, of course. :) INBOX PROB: Nah I cannot even OPEN my inbox. IT's as if my mouse cursor has no power over any of the headings above "MY COMMENTS" that sits on the Black bar. The "Overview/Photos/Blog/Comments/Friends/Inbox (12)on the gray bar are not clickable for me. lol I'm such a computer illiterate. Is the number (12) after the Inbox heading how many messages I have waiting to open somewhere? Cuz I counted how many comments I have on my profile page yesterday under MY COMMENTS and it didn't equal 12. I just hate letting anyone down by not responding to any mail. (Falser words from a long-winded me have never been spoken.) lol! I guess it will be figured out sooner or later. I did write to either the interscopre record contact or the shady lp dude. I'm not sure which. How do YOU open YOUR inbox? Maybe I'm overlooking something. heheh which is HIGHLY possible! :P I noticed you have tons of friends and I just wanted to say that it's no wonder with how friendly and kind you seem! Everyday I get blessed by one thing or another! It's really been quite awesome! Quite the head-scratcher too, I might add! lol So naturally I'm going to at least give a benediction for others to be blessed because I want them to experience the best God has for them! So you are very welcome about my blessings! hehe I learned something earlier today that I thought was pretty thought-provoking. Moutaintops are mostly barren. It is in the valleys we experience growth, like that of real valleys. Full of trees, life-giving waters, etc. That is where we find growth, however once you ARE on a mountaintop, you can see many OTHER mountaintops! God raises us to be climbers, and once we get to that first mountaintop, He seems to have more mountaintops for us to explore... which means more valleys to trek through. Isn't that wild? I never thought about life that way before. Meh, anyway I just thought that was so dandy! hehe May your weeks, months and years ahead be so full of the abundance God has for you. May He envelop you with His loving arms, and may He reveal His very real and tangible Presence to you. May His grace and protection direct your steps forever. Thanks for your friendship, ARINAR. I dont mind the long posts ,in fact ,I quite enjoy it. i feel you on some of the profanity. Some songs aren't appropriate at all for kids, oviously ,but mine do like some songs ALOT (like mockingbird) and I am thankful for edited versions as well :) On the inbox thing - I guess the inbox is just there to notify you . Once you open the inbox you see the list , then you click on a message and it doesn't do anything , right ? ok well all you have to do is go over to your comments its all the same . Thanks for your kind words! Yes I've watched/listened to Beautiful and like you said it delivered nothing BUT beautiful things to my spirit. Also Mockingbird is awesome to me because in it you clearly see a man breaking the chain or cycle of abuse that he was once dealt. You see a loving father ignoring all he was taught by his upbringing to deliver love and care to his children. It is indeed a powerful thing to see a fellow chain-breaker because these are the family members who are ironically viewed as the "black-sheep" of the family. Why? Because as a defensive mechanism, family members think anyone who goes outside the "norm" of their dysfunction will tell the "deep secrets" of the family. They shun you, speak badly of you behind your back and son on when you are the one who is pursuing a more healthy life! Messed up, I know. So far I have watched/listened to a few more that have shown me Eminem's unique comedic prowess as well as his heart, and frustrations of Idolatry and fame. So poingnant (spelling) was a line about hiding his pain behind a clown's mask or a mask of comedy. Forgive my inaccuracies of the actual lyrics. I really had only watched it the one time and only know that I had identyfied with this concept of hiding the pain behind humor. It has always amazed me how the human brain copes with much adversity so many different ways in so many different people with so many different cope-levels. What makes one go completely over the edge, beyond the point of no return whereas someone else muscles through it? My guess is different cope-levels. What is a travesty for me may be dealt with less tragically with your reasonings. It's just all so complex and I finally feel I've found an artform and artist who is intelligent, as well as courageous enough to bring this to the forefront using his God-given TALENTS! I sure hope Mr. Eminem realizes just how profound his gift is, and my wish is that others who do not yet know of him will discover this sooner rather than later. Kudos go out to him and everyone else who's been touched by his powerful words. I don't like profanity however used in this realm it seems to add to the raw emotions and gives the listener a full-on picture of the frustration, anger, despair, and dignity that these engines of expression deliver....it gives us a full-on headshot of the human condition! I will as a Christian seek to purchase the "clean" versions for my own personal pleasure, however I will first listen to the explicit version to capture that true expression he so effectively gives as a gift to the listener/viewer! I can certainly see why you are and have been a fan for so long! The human condition is so diverse yet captured so succintly in this man's rap. I look forward in exploring all of his work, past and present, in the days to come. :) Thanks again ARINAR and sorry for the long response! You might try getting some frustrations out or feel comfort in knowing many people have went through similar things in their lives through the album "Relapse" listen to Insane or have you heard Beautiful it IS Beautiful :) Also "Lose Yourself" from the "8 mile" soundtrack helped me to have courage to move ahaead in my endeavors. Good luck to you ! Tell us what songs you've dicovered that have inspired you the most . I would love to hear more.

I enjoyed reading your post and i am so glad you found Eminem. i have been a fan since pretty much the beginning of his career. keep listening! it will happen again and again , he is the BEST motivational speaker . you can always find lyrics by Em that will help to get you through anything. :):):) Thanks for sharing!!

Wow I couldnt agree with you more and your words describe so much of what I felt as well but could not put it in words like you did. Have a Happy Birthday and holiday. And yes this song has turned into my theme song, I never have listened to Eminem either until this album, recovery, I know a little bit about, and wow has this song and so many other songs on this album really bring out the true feelings that a person goes through.

Thank you! I will have an awesome birthday! I woke up this morning still singing some of the lyrics to "Not Afraid" and the "I Love the way you Lie" songs. I think I actually understand it! hehe Excited and lieing in bed last night I kept thinking of what a newfound respect I have for Rap. Those words and how they were delivered with such passion has not only woken up my will to live, but also my will to say, "Yes I can!" to the inner-voices that wrapped my esteem with "No you can't" all life-long! But more than that...before, I never really gave rap much thought, and I love poetry, but still I never really listened to any rap. I had no idea how powerful it was. Now, I'm just amazed at how much of the artists' soul goes into each and every song much less a whole entire Album! It's one thing for a musical musician to write lyrics for several songs on an album. They can spread out the content to cover more than one song, or gloss over the issues in a verse here and there, but Eminem's songs, wow!!! Set aside the incredible physical feat of performing to beat, but add to that such pure emotion, profound issues that cover a whole gambit of life's bumps, plus the openness it must require to share all that and in each and every song? THAT is mastery, That is amazing. That is the entire person. It must be such a feat to accomplish! On Not Afraid, it's as if he's picked himself by the bootstraps and mustered all it takes to get over his obstacles! So inspiring! Listen to me. I'm nobody to be intellectualizing rap! It's just, I have never ever been effected this way and I'm attributing it to God, and to Eminem. A masterful soul-stirrer in my newb opinion. Thanks again Reginald. I hope you have a grand Christmas this year, and forgive the book I just wrote back. Sorry. :P Positive days from here on out! God Bless you!
